New Zealand Redux

After watching with disbelief and sadness the recent tragedy in New Zealand, I wanted to dig back through my archives and think of happier times for the Kiwis.  I hope NZ recovers quick and wish our Kiwi friends the best. Photo captured in the Milford Sound on the South Island in May 2009.

Vancouver Dogwood

I was up in Vancouver recently, unfortunately weeks after the Winter Olympics had already ended.  I did manage to get out of the hotel for a bit and explore around.  One of my favorite pics so far is from a dogwood tree I found nearby that was in full bloom already.  I am probably allergic to it, but nonetheless a pretty tree and fun shot :)

HDR Prague

For my first post of the New Year [yes I am slow] I figured I would start with a refreshed picture from Prague, Czech Republic in 2008.  I took another crack at editing it with an HDR finish.  I will readily admit I not the biggest fan of HDR imagery, but when done right I think it can really add depth and style to certain images.  Typically the sky is vastly improved with an HDR finish and better mimics the dramatic sky that was present at the time since it cannot always be captured in camera.  This is one of my first attempts at HDR, so be nice ok? Enjoy!
