Charlie's Place

My latest profit donation comes from Amanda & Jeff's gorgeous mountain wedding that we shot late last year.  They ultimately chose Charlie's Place, the new animal shelter in Clear Creek County.  Charlie's Place is a brand new, modern, county owned and managed animal shelter serving the residents of Clear Creek and Gilpin Counties.  More information can be gathered here...

Rocky Mountain Wildlife

So I had the chance to head up to Rocky Mountain National Park last week and have a go at some local wildlife.  I have always said I will never take living in Colorado for granted, but have realized we haven't been to RMNP nearly enough.  It is a truly wonderful place to have right in our backyard and we are fortunate to be able to take a day trip so easily.  Our photo mission turned out pretty good, but nothing I will be submitting for publication anytime soon.  I am hoping to get back to the park soon for some better opportunity.  So without further ado...

UNICEF - Haiti Earthquake Relief

The disaster that has gripped Haiti is still fresh in our minds.  But let us not forget as time passes and continue to support our neighbors in their efforts to rebuild their lives.  As part of my commitment to change how businesses work, I have made another non-profit donation to UNICEF.  I urge you to do the same if you can.  We can all give back even if it is just a little.  UNICEF is a great organization that has done a lot of great work all over the world, rest assured your donation will be put to great use.

This post wouldn't be complete without a reference to photography.  There is a lot of great photo-journalism coming out of Haiti and I wanted to share some moving photos with you.  Have a look at Damon Winter's and some other great photographers work for the New York Times.  Take care of each other out there.

HDR Prague

For my first post of the New Year [yes I am slow] I figured I would start with a refreshed picture from Prague, Czech Republic in 2008.  I took another crack at editing it with an HDR finish.  I will readily admit I not the biggest fan of HDR imagery, but when done right I think it can really add depth and style to certain images.  Typically the sky is vastly improved with an HDR finish and better mimics the dramatic sky that was present at the time since it cannot always be captured in camera.  This is one of my first attempts at HDR, so be nice ok? Enjoy!

Happy Holidays!

Here in Colorado we celebrate the holidays a bit different :) Headed out for a nice snowhoe trip this afternoon and managed to pull the camera out for a few minutes.  Hope you have a wonderful New Year and holiday season!

Cheers!
